Cahaba Springs EventsThis Week’s Special Events
This Wednesday, February 28, 6–7, we welcome Salvation Army Captains Allen and Tasha Tanner and resident manager Ken Tyson, who will speak on forgiveness. The presenters manage the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center, and they assert that forgiveness is a vital part of rehabilitation and recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. Our own Carl Martin, a beneficiary of the ARC program, joins us. Supper is at 5:30 and our usual classes are deferred so we can all attend this special event.
Also on Wednesday, 4–5, is our monthly book club discussion led by Karen Harmon. Our book this month is the famous novel, "A Man Called Ove." Come for the club and stay for supper and our evening's program!
Then on Thursday, March 1, 7–8:30 we are privileged to host the Clay-Chalkville High School choral groups' annual performance. You won't want to miss the music, energy, and fun of this special program. A free-will offering helps support the schools' music program.
Last but not least, our own Rhianna Helmers' school project, "Pamphlet for Passion," features interviews of two families who are treasured residents of the Presbyterian Home for Children Secure Dwellings program. We are proud of Rhianna's work, which earned her a high grade, and we are touched by our families' stories and the security they have found at the Home.
