“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King, Jr.
Strength to Love is a collection of meditative and sermonic pieces, some of them composed in jails and all of them crafted during the tumultuous years of the Civil Rights struggle. Dr. King articulated and espoused in a deeply personal, compelling way his commitment to justice and to the intellectual, moral, and spiritual conversion that makes his work as much a blueprint today for Christian discipleship as it was then.
Please join Thursdays Together for a study of this powerful work. The group is led by Dr. James McLeod, Jr. and meets in room 219 each Thursday at 10 am.
